Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of Taawn across the website and mobile apps. Effective 2026-07-19. Taawn is currently an invite-only alpha.
Alpha status and acceptance
Taawn is an invite-only alpha product for invited testers and friends. Features, processing results, route information, and safety-related prompts may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable. By creating an account or using Taawn, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the Safety & Risk Acknowledgment where required.
Age requirement (18+)
Taawn is available only to persons who are at least 18 years old. By creating an account or using the service, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We do not knowingly offer the service to minors.
Founding alpha testers and complimentary Premium
Founding alpha testers invited through our alpha program may receive complimentary Premium access while Taawn continues to offer the service. This is a goodwill benefit, not a purchase. Taawn has no obligation to operate the service indefinitely; features, tiers, and availability may change, and the service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued. Complimentary Premium is not transferable and does not create a payment or refund claim if the service ends.
Training assistance only
Taawn is an informational training-assistance product. It is not navigation equipment, emergency or rescue equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), a trail-legality checker, legal advice, or a guarantee of lawful or safe riding. Any overlays, rankings, timing comparisons, AI suggestions, or trail-condition information are provided for general training information only.
Your responsibility for lawful riding
You remain solely responsible for where, when, and how you ride, record, and upload content. You must follow local law, trail rules, signage, land-access restrictions, private-property limits, filming and image rights, and traffic or safety requirements. You warrant that you have lawful access to any location you ride or film. Taawn does not verify that any trail, route, segment, recording location, or suggested line is legal, open, suitable, or safe.
User content, license, and reporting
You keep ownership of your content, but you grant Taawn a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, analyze, display, moderate, and otherwise use that content as needed to operate, improve, and secure the service. You must have the rights needed for what you upload and must not upload illegal, infringing, abusive, or otherwise unlawful content — including content that depicts or promotes illegal trail use. You may report content through the product; we may review reports and remove or restrict content when needed.
Accounts, paid features, and updates
You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. Paid plans, if offered, are subject to the pricing and store or payment-provider terms presented at purchase. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service, including experimental features, when reasonably necessary.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany — including liability for injury to life, body, or health caused by negligence; liability for intent or gross negligence; and mandatory product-liability or other non-waivable statutory liability. Taawn does not claim immunity from all lawsuits. Where liability may lawfully be limited for this alpha, as-is informational service, Taawn is provided without warranties that it is uninterrupted, accurate, fit for a particular purpose, or sufficient for navigation, rescue, or PPE use. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for crashes, injuries, trespass, fines, confiscation, or other losses caused by how you ride, record, interpret, or rely on the service, except where such limitation is prohibited.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules that would lead to another law. Courts in Jena, Germany, have jurisdiction where permitted. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence where mandatory consumer-protection rules so provide.
Termination, changes, and contact
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, create risk, or misuse the product. We may update these Terms from time to time and will publish the updated version date when we do. Questions: [email protected].
