Records & badges
After a run is processed, Taawn may award badges on your run, segment leaderboard, and profile. Badges celebrate personal bests and current segment records.
Two kinds of records
Personal records
A personal record (PR) means you beat your own previous best on that segment for a given metric. Personal badges are permanent — if you set a personal best on a run, that run keeps its badge even if you ride faster later.
Course records
A course record is the best value on the segment across all riders. Course-record badges are live: they only show on the run that currently holds the record. If someone beats it, the crown moves to their run.
How to read the icons
Each metric has a fixed icon and color. A small gold crown on top means it is a course record (segment-wide), not just a personal best.
Icons are shared SVG assets (assets/record-badges/) — the same glyphs on web and Android. Shralp uses a berm carve icon (banked turn), not water/waves.
Badge legend
Personal records
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Personal best time | Your fastest completion time on this segment (lower is better). |
| Personal best jump | Your highest jump on this segment. |
| Personal best shralp | Your best berm carve on this segment (see below). |
Course records
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Course record: highest jump | The biggest jump anyone has landed on this segment. Crown on the jump icon. |
| Course record: best shralp | The best berm carve anyone has scored on this segment. Crown on the shralp icon. |
There is no course-record badge for fastest time — that role is filled by the Hot Seat (see below).
What the metrics mean
- Fastest time — Total segment completion time from start to end frame, after video alignment.
- Highest jump — The biggest air on the segment, measured from 3D alignment when available.
- Shralp — Taawn’s score for a hard, banked turn (berm carve). Higher is better. Shralp and jump metrics require successful 3D alignment; if alignment fails, timing badges may still appear but jump/shralp badges will not.
Leaderboard comparison filters
On the segment Hot Seat table you can narrow who you compare against:
- Gender — men, women, or divers (riders without gender in Settings are hidden when a filter is active)
- Age group — U19, 19–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60+ (from birth year in Settings)
- Bike — E-Bike vs non E-Bike (from the bike type chosen at run upload)
- Year — calendar year of the run
Set optional gender and birth year under Settings → Leaderboard profile. New runs require a bike type at upload (garage bike or E-Bike / bio bike).
Hot Seat (separate from badges)
The Hot Seat is a chair icon on the segment leaderboard for whoever currently has rank 1 — fastest time. It is not one of the record badges above, but it answers the same question as “who is fastest right now?”
When you take the Hot Seat, you are the current fastest rider on the segment until someone beats your time.
Where badges appear
- Run detail — badges earned on that specific run
- Segment detail — badges on leaderboard rows; Hot Seat on rank 1
- Activity feed & profile — summary of recent record achievements
- Celebration modal — shown once when a newly completed run earns new badges
Tips
- Ties do not earn a new personal record — you must strictly beat your previous best.
- An old run can still show personal badges from the day you set them, even if you are no longer the fastest rider overall.
- Course-record crowns disappear from a run when another rider beats that metric.
