Segments

A segment is a named piece of trail with a reference GoPro video. Other riders upload runs on your segment to compare.

Create a segment (from an activity)

Open an activity → Create segment.

Step 1 — Select video

Pick your reference GoPro video. The app extracts telemetry and downsamples on device (see Video processing).

Step 3 — GPS start/end

On the GPX map, slide along the track and set start and end points. If your GoPro has GPS telemetry, Taawn may propose a match you can accept or adjust.

Step 4 — Details & publish

Enter name and description. Optionally assign camera and bike. Toggle private if only you should see it. Tap Create segment — upload runs in the background.

Segment limits by tier

Maximum marked segment duration depends on your plan (e.g. 90 s Free, up to 5 min Premium). See Usage tiers.

3D reconstruction

After upload, Premium/Pro users can trigger 3D segment reconstruction from segment detail (requires calibrated camera). This builds a 3D model used for overlays and run alignment.
